Cherie's Bulldogs

Unfortunately, with the ease of the Internet, some people are
getting scammed when it comes to finding the pet they have
always looked and longed for.  You have to be so careful these
days!  What is even more sad, is that we as breeders are also
prone to scams.  So please don't take it wrong if I question you
about some things, because I need to make sure my puppy is
going to a legitimate home, just as much as you need to be sure
your puppy is coming from a legitimate breeder.

Here are some things you need to watch out for:

Always ask to come see the puppy in person.  I have an
open door policy with my dogs and would never deny a
person the chance to come see them and how they are
raised.
All contact information should be provided, including
name, address and phone number.  When you see an
advertisement with an email address only, BE CAREFUL!!
Always get a contract - in writing - signed by both parties.
Ask for references from people who have purchased
puppies from previous litters.
Never send cash or wire money.  Get a receipt for
everything.
If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is! This
is how they hook you.  You either get no dog at all in the
end, or you get a very sick dog that runs up your
veterinary bills, or dies quickly.
Always do your research!  Any reputable breeder will
assist you and answer any questions for you.  There
shouldn't ever be something to hide.  So trust your
instincts.  If it doesn't feel right, move on and find someone
who makes you feel comfortable.
